In 2023, Chris McElvain stepped onto the professional baseball stage with the Daytona Tortugas, marking his debut in the minor leagues. During this inaugural season, he showcased his pitching abilities by maintaining a 3.04 ERA and a 3.61 FIP across 50.1 innings. McElvain's role as a starter was evident as he took the mound for eight of the 12 games he appeared in, demonstrating his capability to anchor the team's pitching rotation.
