The Toronto Blue Jays have a ton of uncertainties regarding their starting rotation for the 2025 season especially surrounding starting pitcher Alek Manoah who will miss a big portion of the season.

Manoah has been releasing videos throughout the off-season showing his recovery process that seems to be going well but he is still far away from making a return on the field.
Alek Manoah is throwing the baseball for the first time since his TJ surgery. He posted this on his Instagram:

«Day 168 post surgery. Hard to describe the emotions and excitement, feels like opening day in December. Tons to be grateful for over these last 168 days and even more gratifying today to be able to do what I love the most, throw that little white ball! Thank you God»

Bad news for the Blue Jays as latest update states states Alek Manoah will miss the majority of the 2025 season

Due to Manoah's surgery recovery this off-season many believed that he would only miss a slim part of the beginning of the 2025 season but it looks like it will be much more than that.
In a recent article discussing the possibility of Jake Bloss starting the 2025 season in the Blue Jays rotation, it was announced that Manoah will likely be missing a big portion of the season contrary to what many believed.
Alek Manoah is likely to miss most of the 2025 season after having elbow surgery. Yariel Rodriguez is also an unproven commodity. That leaves Kevin Gausman, Jose Berrios, and Chris Bassitt as locks for the rotation. -Drosehn

This puts the Blue Jays in a tough position to start the season as they are already in a tough spot when it comes to starting pitchers and now without Manoah in the lineup they will need to find a temporary replacement as well.
Hopefully Manoah ends up proving these time tables wrong but best case scenario his misses only the first 1-2 months of the season.
