The Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins finally sat down with reporters this afternoon and spoke of the team's plan for the trade deadline while trying to not give too much away.
Atkins told reporters that the Blue Jays have yet to receive a significant amount of calls regarding their players on short contracts. He added that they are still trying to figure out how to fully approach the deadline.
Ross Atkins spoke more about improving in 2024 and less about the trade deadline, but said:
«We have not received many or a significant number of calls asking for our players that are on short contracts. It's more downloading where we are from a strategy standpoint.» #BlueJays
While Atkins did give some answers, it seems like he is once again trying to find a way to not give the fans any information but at the same time it sounds like he has no idea how they will approach the deadline.
Hopefully he is uncertain on how to approach the deadline because he is uncertain if he will still be part of the team at that point.
