Anthony Santander calls out Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman and Jose Berrios

Toronto Blue Jays new slugger Anthony Santander recently spoke to pitchers Jose Berrios and Kevin Gausman calling it why the starting rotation struggled so much last season.
The Blue Jays main goal this off-season was improving their starting rotation and bullpen as they struggled in both areas last season with many blown games due to pitching.

The Blue Jays starting rotation had a tough year in 2024, pretty much all of their pitchers had a tough season including both Kevin Gausman and Jose Berrios even though Berrios came out of the gate on a great run, it came to an end quickly.
On the most recent episode of the Blair & Barker show, Jeff Blair stated that Santander told Gausman and Berrios that they did not pitch inside enough last season which made opposing hitters very comfortable when facing them.
"Anthony Santander made it pretty clear to Kevin Gausman and José Berr�os that they [Blue Jays] didn't pitch to hitters inside enough last year, and it made for some very comfortable at bats as opponents."

Some might think that a comment like this might hurt Berrios and Gausman's ego, the point on Santander's comments was to help improve the Blue Jays as it is clear that their starting rotation struggled last year.
Santander is clearly an incredible hitter which is why when he speaks on the mentality of a player at the plate and gives insight to the Blue Jays pitchers, he knows what he is talking about.
Both Berrios and Gausman are great pitchers despite their 2024 season and could easily return to being great with a few alterations to their how they pitched last season.
Hopefully Santander's comments help the team improve as it is clearly what he was trying to do by mentioning this.
