It has been announced today that Rangers starting pitcher and multiple-time Cy Young award winner Jacob deGrom is ready to join the Texas next week with fellow starter Max Scherzer.
«He's ready to start here,» Bochy said of two-time winner deGrom. «Same with Max. Both had great outings, terrific outings.»
DeGrom has not played in the big leagues since April 2023 when he was pulled for an apparent elbow injury, he has surgery shortly after and has been spending his time rehabbing in the minor leagues.
«I'm really excited to be back out there,» deGrom said. «It's the next step - big league games, big league hitters.»
In his last 4 rehab starts with Double-A Frisco, he has only given up 1 run in 10.2 innings, 15 K's and 4 hits. He was declared ready to join the team and the most likely possibility is early next week.
