The MLB just announced the National League Rookie of the year which the winner was Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes which is not a big surprise while in the American League New York Yankees Luis Gil won.
Skenes is coming off an unbelievable season in 2024 as he finished with an 11-3 record to go along with a 1.96 ERA in 133 innings pitched with 170 strikeouts which should put him in consideration for a Cy Young award.

The MLB nominated Skenes as the winner of the Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year award in the National League beating out Jackson Merrill, Jackson Chourio and Shota Imanaga.
Pittsburgh right-hander Paul Skenes won National League Rookie of the Year, capturing 23 of 30 first-place votes and seven second-place votes. Jackson Merrill finished second with seven first-place votes and 23 in second. Jackson Chourio was third, Shota Imanaga fourth.
Thee voting breakdown for the award was announced as well and Skenes dominated with 23 of 30 first place votes in which Jackson Merrill had the other 7 while also having zero third place votes.
