The Mets had their first meeting with Soto this week and according to multiple reports, the Mets have afford Soto $660 million as their initial offer which will likely end up going up.

Since Cohen has mentioned that he refuses to be outbid, there is a highly likelihood that the offer rises since Soto's representatives have mentioned to multiple teams that he is aiming for a deal worth around $700 million.
Even if the Mets don't end up going up with their offer, this will become the second biggest contract in MLB history only behind Shohei Ohtani's $700 million contract that he signed with the Dodgers last year.
If the Blue Jays truly want to land Soto, it looks like they will need to spend over $700 million as he will not take a pay cut to come to a team that did not even make the playoffs this year.
