The Boston Red Sox announced this morning that they have signed former AL Reliever of the Year and 7 time all-star Aroldis Chapman to a 1 year contract.

The Red Sox are in a very similar situation to the Blue Jays this off-season as they are trying to make big moves to make it back into the playoffs and are in desperate needs of some new pitchers.

The Red Sox announced that they have signed reliever Aroldis Chapman to a one year deal

The Red Sox pitching struggled last season which was part of their team missing the playoff which is why their are targeting many of the same starting pitcher and relievers as the Blue Jays this off-season.
MLB insider Jeff Passan announced this morning that the Red Sox have signed Chapman to a one year deal worth $10.75 million pending a physical according to multiple sources.
Left-handed reliever Aroldis Chapman and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on a one-year, $10.75 million contract, pending physical, sources tell ESPN. Boston sought left-handed help for its bullpen and lands the 36-year-old Chapman.

said deal was progressing.
While Chapman is in his final years of playing, he still put up a solid 3.79 ERA for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season along with 98 strikeouts in 61.2 innings which is why he found a contract so easily.
As the off-season continues to roll on, pitchers seem to be the majority of the league's signings so far but the Toronto Blue Jays have yet to make a move which has fans worried.
If the Blue Jays want to put a solid team together for next season they need to start signing players to major league deals and quickly because if they wait too long they will end up with no big time names.
The Blue Jays are likely waiting on Juan Soto to announce his signing before making any big moves but this might end up putting the Blue Jays in a bad spot if they don't get him like it did last season with Shohei Ohtani.
