Blue Jays announce that rookie Alan Roden will wear a different number this season
Roden came in to camp with some high expectations after what he did in the minors last year and he continued to build off of that after an incredible camp landing himself a bench spot for the start of the season.
The Blue Jays announced that Roden has decided to wear number 18 this season after having worn number 83 all Spring Training which is a classic random rookie number.
A real jersey number for a real big leaguer:

The last played to wear number 18 for the Blue Jays prior to Roden was Curtis Granderson back in 2018.

Despite going into his rookie season, the Blue Jays have high hopes for Roden this year which John Schneider stated that the team has a lot of trust in him and believe that he could be an impact player for them this season.
John Schneider on Alan Roden making the #BlueJays
«We trust his skillset, not only on the field but between his ears when it comes to being able to process things and slow things down. I think there's a really good chance he's an impact player for us."
It will be interesting to see how Roden ends up performing in his first season with the Blue Jays.
