Former Toronto Blue Jays utility man Cavan Biggio has had a tough time over the last year as he has bounced around multiple teams unable to stick.

The Blue Jays DFA'd Biggio last June as he struggled quite a bit and ended up being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Brayden Fischer and cash but he did not last long there either.

Biggio did not last long with the Dodgers as he was released then signed by the San Francisco Giants who then traded him to the Atlanta Braves in late August where he finished the season then elected free agency.
This off-season Biggio signed a minor league deal with the Royals which included a Spring Training invitation which he seems to have impressed the staff at as he has fought his way onto the Opening Day roster.
The Royals announced a wide slate of cuts this morning. Infielder Harold Castro, righty Taylor Clarke, catcher Brian O'Keefe and infielder Tyler Tolbert were all reassigned to minor league camp.

All were non-roster invitees. Meanwhile, infielder Nick Loftin and outfielders Drew Waters and Joey Wiemer were optioned to Triple-A Omaha. That leaves just 26 players in camp - one of whom is non-roster utilityman Cavan Biggio. -Adams

According to reports, Biggio sustained an injury in the last game of Spring Training but he will still be selected to the 40 man roster regardless of that since the Royals have a few vacant spots.
Barring an injury in today's final Cactus League game, he'll be selected to the 40-man roster and break camp with the team. The Royals already have a pair of 40-man vacancies, so a corresponding move won't be necessary. -Adams

While Biggio did not have the best camp at the plate finishing with a .182 batting average, he still managed to put together a .449 OBP and .782 OPS along with 6 hits in 33 at bats which go him a spot on the roster.
Biggio is hoping he can bounce back this season and hopefully stay in Kansas City for the entire year instead of looking for a new team every month or two as he did last year.
