Toronto Blue Jays left-handed pitching prospect Jimmy Burnette is a diamond in the rough after being an 18th round draft pick in 2021. This season he is showcasing that he could be the next big reliever for the Jays.

Toronto Blue Jays Prospect Profile: Left-handed pitcher Jimmy Burnette
The 25-year-old lefty is having himself one heck of a season, posting at 2.16 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched and has been the Fisher Cats most dominant and reliable reliever.
"With runners on first and second with one out, Jimmy Burnette strikes out two straight batters to keep the game tied."
Burnette strikes out a third of the batters he faces and has a very low walk rate. For a late round draft pick with very little expectation, he has proven all the doubters wrong as he continues to pitch incredibly well in Double-A ball.
