Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette might not be looking for an extension after all

A couple day ago Bichette stated that he had yet to have any conversations regarding a contract extension but that his goal is to whatever he can to help the team win while being the best player he can be.

Over the past few days, the subject of Bichette contract extension has been everywhere and while most first thought that he clearly wants to stay in Toronto, it might not be the case.

Hazel posted a conversation she had with Bichette earlier this morning in which he re-confirmed that the team has yet to start any discussion with him but that he is happy where he is currently at and whatever happens, happens.

After how last season went, it is no surprise that Bichette would want to wait a bit into the season to start negotiating as he wants to prove that he is much better than the player that took the field last season.

Even if he ends up wanting to wait until free agency, it is still in his best interest to wait since he will likely only raise his value throughout the season as most believe he will have a much better year in 2025.

The good news is that Bichette clearly wants to stay with Vladimir Guerrero Jr which means that if the Blue Jays close on an extension with him, there is a good chance that Bichette will want to stay.

It will be interesting to see how all of this ends up playing out throughout the season.
