Toronto Blue JaysMax Scherzer pitched in his first game for Toronto yesterday and after the game took a shot at the MLB over the new ABS system.
The MLB announced earlier this off-season that they would be testing out their new automated ball-strike system at Spring Training which fans were no pleased with and it looks like Scherzer was not a fan.

After the game, Scherzer spoke to Jayson Stark in which he challeneged the MLB deciding to implement the ABS system since he believes that the umpires do a great job and does not believe anything should change.
Scherzer is not a fan of the ABS technology. Speaking to The Athletic's Jayson Stark, Scherzer said "I'm a little skeptical on this. I get what we're trying to do here, but I think major-league umpires are really good. They're really good. So what are we actually changing here?" -Scherzer
Max Scherzer isn't a fan of the automated ball-strike system
Scherzer is clearly not the only one that feels this way as fans and other players have made it clear that the league should stick to human umpires as it is part of the game.
Scherzer is not one who thinks this is a positive for the sport. "I'm paying attention to it. You know, kind of my gut is that it's going to be 50-50 and you don't really have a net gain" Scherzer stated. "(But) I'm waiting. We'll see. But for me, I just think the umpires are really good." -Scherzer
Time will tell if the MLB ends up using this system full-time but for right now it looks like this will be part of the game's future.
