The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to improve their starting rotation this winter and it looks like they are interested in former Cy Young winner Blake Snell who is now a free agent.
Snell is coming off back to back solid season between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants in which he won the Cy Young award in 2023 for the National League.

Snell missed some games last season due to an injury but still put up a solid 33.12 ERA in 104 innings pitched for the Giants while also pitching his first career no-hitter.
Toronto would be wise to try and pursue Snell and see if they can bounce back into contention next year. The left-hander got off to a bad start and even landed on the injured list, but he turned things around in the second half and ultimately finished with a 3.12 ERA in his 20 starts. -Bishop
It's unlikely that the Giants will re-sign him, but the Blue Jays could get their hands on an ace and have a strong rotation heading into 2025. -Bishop
Snell will not be cheap as he just declined his player option with the Giants this off-season worth $26 million as his is looking for a long term deal which will likely pay him even more per season.
If the Blue Jays want to truly improve, they need to be willing to spend money as paying Snell would be worth every penny.
