Toronto Blue Jays Kevin Gausman completely let down by his teammates

The Toronto Blue Jays took on the New York Mets this afternoon with Kevin Gausman and after a great performance, Gausman was completely let down by his teammates.
This was Gausman's second start of the season after a brilliant performance in his first game of 2025 against the Baltimore Orioles in which he pitched 6 innings giving up 3 hits and striking out 4 batters.

The Blue Jays kicked off their series against the Mets in New York today after a day off for their first road game of the season in which the offense was nowhere to be found.
Toronto had Gausman on the mound and the veteran pitcher showed up pitching a total of 5 innings in which he only gave up only 2 hits and 3 earned runs but despite keeping the Mets offense on their toes, his teammates were unable to back him up.
Gausman was solid today after he got ambushed in the 1st.

Despite Gausman's best efforts, the Blue Jays lack of offense made it impossible for them to win as you cannot win a game when you score no runs in 9 innings while only managing to get 4 hits.
Hopefully game 2 of the series tomorrow will go differently as they will learn from their mistakes today.
Against a stacked roster like the Mets, the Blue Jays need to produce offense if they want to win.
