Many fans were sad to see relief pitcher Tim Mayza released from the Blue Jays in early July as he was their longest active players.
Mayza was only a free agent for a week before the Yankees decided to sign him to a minor league deal.
Keegan Matheson reported this afternoon that after spending the last month in Triple-A, the Yankees have officially called up Mayza to the big leagues.
Hopefully for Mayza, he made good use of his time in the minors and will begin his time with the Yankees pitching better than he did for Toronto since when he was released, his ERA was over 8.00.
