The Toronto Blue Jays are apparently still looking to make some big signings this off-season and it looks like Max Scherzer is their main focus in terms of a pitcher.
The Blue Jays have been talking about adding a starting pitcher to their rotation all off-season but ever since they missed out on Corbin Burnes, talks regarding pitchers has quieted down.
The Blue Jays are trying to sign free agent Max Scherzer
The Blue Jays have been linked to multiple free agent this off-season and have fallen short on quite a few of them but it looks like their final target on the pitching side is Scherzer according to Ben Nicholson-Smith.

MLB insider Jon Heyman also stated on the MLB network that he believes that Toronto is the ideal destination for Scherzer and that the Blue Jays are very interested in signing him.

The one issue the Blue Jays might have with trying to land Scherzer is that he has mentioned that he wants to play for a winner which many do not believe the Blue Jays are but if they can add a few more key pieces, this roster can definitely get there.
Adding a consistent pitcher like Scherzer would be great for the Blue Jays rotation but his years of experience would also be great for all of their young players.
