Blue Jays Anthony Santander speaks to the media for the first time as a Blue Jay
The Blue Jays officially signed Santander to his contract yesterday and had him speak to the Toronto media for the first time in which he was asked about his role on the team and his hopes for the future.
Santander stated that he is excited to get things going with the Blue Jays and even spoke of the goal on winning a championship with Toronto.
Work Hard. Get Better. WIN
When asked about his role with the team, Santander stated that he is ready to play whenever they need him, right field, left field, first or even designated hitter which shows how much of a team player he is.
Anthony Santander says he's flexible as far as where the Blue Jays use him on the field.
"I'm gonna play where the skipper's going to need me ... right field, left field, first base, DH."
According to Santander he had been hearing about the Blue Jays since the first day of free agency and when speaking with players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Alek Manoah, he knew it would be a good fit.
Anthony Santander says that "From Day 1, I was always hearing Toronto, Toronto, Toronto" from the people around him.
He's close with Victor Martinez, spoke with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and had Alek Manoah lobbying him this offseason, too. #BlueJays
