The Toronto Blue Jays need to improve their starting pitcher rotation for the 2025 season and it looks like superstar free agent Blake Snell might be at the top of their list.
The Blue Jays starting rotation was not awful last season but was also far from good enough to help them be a solid contender which is why they need to bring in a top tier pitcher that could be their number 1 or 2 starting pitcher.
Blue Jays interested in signing free agent pitcher Blake Snell
Snell is coming off a solid season in San Francisco where he dealt with a lot of injuries but was still able to put up a 3.12 ERA in 104 innings pitched and threw for his first career no hitter.
It was a solid season for Snell all things considered, as he had a 3.12 ERA and a 2.43 FIP in 104 innings pitched, along with a 34.7 K% and a 10.5 BB%. However, it wasn't nearly as good as his National League Cy Young winning season the year before, where he had a 2.25 ERA and a 3.44 FIP in 180 innings pitched, along with a 31.5 K% and a 13.3 BB%. -Delaney
The Athletic's Jim Bowden predicts he'll earn a three-year deal worth $105 million, with the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, and San Francisco Giants potentially being interested in his services. -Delaney
If the Blue Jays are able to land Snell, this could be incredible for their starting rotation as they would have one of the best one-two punches in the MLB with Snell and Kevin Gausman.
