The Toronto Blue Jays have not done a ton this off-season and because of that Fan Graphs recent projections believe the team will not do much better than last season.

The Blue Jays have made some decent acquisitions this winter with players like Yimi Garcia, Jeff Hoffman and Andres Gimenez but none of these players are considered superstars.

Fan Graphs projections state that the Blue Jays will not win many more games in the 2025 season

The Blue Jays had a rough 2024 season that ended up in pure disappointment as most projections had them finishing with at least 87-88 wins which they missed by more than 10 wins with a 74-88 record.
After an ugly 2024 season in which they went 74-88, the Blue Jays hoped to improve their roster via free agency. They were in talks with several, including Corbin Burnes, Juan Soto, and Max Fried, but missed on all three, along with several others. -Pankiw

In a recent article posted on Fan Graphs, written by Dan Szymborski, he stated that due to how 2024 went and the Blue Jays average off-season so far, he believes that they will at best finish with 84-85 wins next season.
«If you ignore my direct threats of violence and add up the WAR on the depth chart, you get around 87-88 wins,» Szymborski wrote. «But with the team's depth, especially the starting pitching, ZiPS gives the Jays something more along the lines of 84 or 85 wins right now. That's a really awkward spot for a team that might be in its last season with two of its best players.» -Szymborski

While this is a step up, fans are hoping for much more from the Blue Jays next season as 85 wins would likely not even get them into the playoffs despite it being a decent step up from last season.
Another reason for the projections is that the Blue Jays two best players Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Bo Bichette have a very uncertain future in Toronto which has many believe they will not do much better in 2025.
Hopefully these projections are wrong and the Blue Jays will surpass expectations but fans will have to wait for the start of the season to see how this all plays out.
