Former Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar announced in an interview recently that he will be calling it a career at the end of the season.
Pillar hit the 10 year of active service mark yesterday which means he has secured his full pension from the MLB and following the game stated that he will retire at the end of the season since he wants to go out still playing well.
«I watched some of my good friends and teammates, who were much better players than me, maybe go a year too long,» Pillar told Nightengale. «I think it would be kind of cool to go out playing really well, and people being curious to why you don't want to play anymore, and not that the game kicked you out.»
The Former Jay said he made the decision since he has seen a few of his friends that were much better players than he ever was hold onto for too long and he would like to retire while he is still playing well.
