According to MLB historian David Matchett, History has been made yesterday in Cleveland Guardian/Toronto Blue Jays matchup.
Matchett noted that this is the first time ever that 5 Canadian born players appeared in the same game. For the Cleveland Guardians, it was both the Naylor brothers and Cade Smith and for the Blue Jays it was Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Zach Pop.
Historian David Matchett says Canadian baseball history was made at Rogers Centre on Friday.
With the Naylors and appearing for Cleveland and Guerrero Jr. and Zach Pop for the Jays, it was the 1st time in MLB history that 5 players born in Canada have played in the same game.
It could have been 6 Canadians if Jordan Romano had made an appearance.
It great to see Canadian born players excelling in the Major Leagues.
