Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins decided to place outfielder Kevin Kiermaier on revocable waivers few days ago to see if anyone would pick him up but he has since cleared waivers and will be staying in Toronto.
Kiermaier spoke to reporters yesterday after clearing waivers stating he is not pissed and understands the move but at the same time took a shot at management saying it is weird that they wanted to give him away but now want to keep him.
Also, Kevin Kiermaier on his week on waivers:
"I'm not pissed. I totally get it. It's different in the sense that they were willing to give me away but they want to keep me around. That's the weird part."
The 34 year old has every right to be confused by the whole situation since this is not exactly a usual move by a team, most of the time when a player is placed on waivers, it is because the team does not want him anymore.
