Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider made some interesting comments about Anthony Santander in a recent interview stating that he used to want to punch him when he played for the Baltimore Orioles.

The Blue Jays signed Santander to a massive 5 year deal this off-season worth $92.5 million as they were in need of bringing in some offense which Santander perfectly fit that criteria.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider admits to wanting to punch Anthony Santander when he used to play for the Orioles

During a recent interview, Schneider spoke of how glad he is that he no longer has to face Santander with the Orioles and made some interesting comments about how he felt towards him when the Blue Jays used to face him.
Schneider stated that he hated when Santander used to come up to the plate and stare down the opposing dugout which made him want to punch Santander in the face whenever he would do it.
«You joke about it a little bit at first, but I've told him I used to hate when during his first (at-bat) he does that little dig in and kind of stares in the dugout and looking at the clock,» Schneider said of the former Oriole, who was in the lineup here on Tuesday night for a game against his former team. «I wanted to punch him in the face every time he did that the last couple of years. -Schneider

Now that Santander is on the Blue Jays and does it to opposing teams, Schneider opinion has changed quite drastically and he stated he now loves when Santander does that.
«And now I love it.» -Schneider

Clearly Schneider is a big fan of Santander now on and off the field as he also praised how great of a teammate he is with his team first mentality with his main focus being helping the team win.
«It has been pretty apparent early that he is such a team-first guy, just in conversations with him,» Schneider said. «And then seeing him interact with the team and all the reports that we got from Baltimore, he's kind of exceeded them with the type of person that he is." -Schneider

Looks like Schneider is quite happy with the front office after being able to land Santander this off-season and he is excited to see the offense he will bring this year.
