Despite a heartbreaking loss last night, George Springer had possibly one of the most clutch plays of the year for the Blue Jays in the 9th inning.
The Blue Jays were down 5-3 with players on second and third with 2 outs when Springer came up to the plate. Springer knocked on into deep left field up against the wall for a triple which brought in both runs.
Springer had the worst first half of a season in his career this year but since the All-Star break has completely turn things around. At one point he was even batting seventh in the lineup as he could not get a hit but that is not the case anymore. Springer has been playing great lately in his legendary role on leadoff batter for the Blue Jays.
