Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar recently spoke on his former team the New York Mets and their signing of Juan Soto to a massive $765 million contract.
The Mets closed the largest contract in MLB history this off-season with superstar Juan Soto as they signed him to an incredible $765 million contract on a 15 year term.

Former Blue Jays Kevin Pillar calls out Juan Soto over new contract
Pillar was recently on the Baseball Tonight podcast with Buster Olney in which they spoke of that massive contract that Soto signed this off-season and it looks like Pillar was not a fan of the deal.
The former Blue Jays outfielder stated that he has mixed feelings about it since he disagrees with that amount being given to a player as he clearly finds it outrageous but did admit that some it his feelings might come from jealousy.
"Good for him, I guess," Pillar said. "I'm a guy that, you know, has mixed feelings about it. If you can go get it - maybe some of it comes from a bit of jealousy, and envious, but to be that talented at that young, and free agency, it's just a perfect storm of events." -Pillar
Despite having mix feelings about the whole situation, Pillar did admit that with how good of a player Soto is and how young he is, there is no surprise that he was able to land that big of a contract.
"It starts with him being as talented and as dominant as he's been," Pillar said of Soto. "To get to the big leagues at such a young age and serve your six years of time, to be able to earn your right to be a free agent, and then on top of it have every big-market team bidding on your services, there's no wonder he ends up with that type of deal." -Pillar
Pillar who stated last season might be his last seems to still want to play but is currently still a free agent which surprises some since he did a great job with the Los Angeles Angels last season.
