Toronto Blue Jays Bo Bichette finally talks about negotiations regarding an extension

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop spoke with MLB insider Keegan Matheson this morning regarding a possible contract extension with the team.
The Blue Jays have been focused on getting an extension done with their star player Vladimir Guerrero Jr but there has not been much said regarding the situation with Bichette.
Bo Bichette speaks on a possible contract extension with the Blue Jays
Bichette is headed into the final year of his contract with the Blue Jays and despite rumors of him possibly being traded, it looks like he with be playing for Toronto this season.
During an interview this morning, Bichette stated that he has yet to have any conversations with management about a possible extension but he hopes to stay in Toronto.
«No, we haven't had any talks,» Bichette said, «but from my perspective, we all grow up wanting to be one of those guys that has an opportunity to stay with an organization for their entire career. I'm just focused on what I've got to do this year to help the team win and be the best version of myself. Whatever happens will happen.» -Bichette
Bichette also added that he has had conversations with Guerrero and that the two want to try and play together for their entire career while hoping that team that they play for is the Blue Jays.
«Vladdy is one of my best friends. We've had tons of conversations like that,» Bichette said. «We've talked about playing together forever since he was 18 and I was 19. That's still a goal of ours.» -Bichette
The good news is that Bichette seems to want to sign an extension in Toronto and wants to continue to play with Guerrero, the bad news is that the Blue Jays have yet to start a conversation with him about an extension.
It seems like Bichette is ready to follow Guerrero so if the Blue Jays are unable to get a deal done with Guerrero, Bichette might be looking to follow him in free agency next off-season.
