The Toronto Blue Jays seem all in on adding some major new pieces to their roster for the 2025 season and according to ESPN, third baseman Alex Bregman is at the top of the list.
Bregman is finishing up his 5 year deal with the Astros which he has made it clear that he will be testing the free agent market and not returning to Houston after giving a final salute top the crowd as he was eliminated in the post season a couple weeks ago.
Blue Jays seem to be all in on going after Alex Bregman
According to ESPN's Buster Olney, he believes that the Blue Jays are taking a real look at Bregman as he is a very solid third baseman that could also improve their batting as a proven hitter while also having experience winning which would be great for their current clubhouse.
ESPN's Buster Olney thinks that Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman could be a key name in play.
Olney joined First Up on TSN1050 on Tuesday morning to discuss the chances the Blue Jays make a move on Bregman, and what other teams could be in play for the veteran.
"He's a proven winner, he's a really good third baseman, he can hit, he would help to lengthen out their lineup," Olney said. -TSN
This move would also make a ton of sense if the Blue Jays do plan on moving Bo Bichette and having Ernie Clement play shortstop next season since they will need a replacement at third base and Bregman could be that player.
