Daulton Varsho is officially back with the Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to to receive reinforcements on Thursday.
Daulton Varsho is set to return from injury on Tuesday against the Red Sox.
On Sunday, the Blue Jays made a series of roster moves, per Shi Davidi, recalling outfielder Jonatan Clase from Triple-A Buffalo as the 27th man for the doubleheader and placing Ryan Burr on the 60-day Injured List to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.
Ryley Delaney from Blue Jays Nation writes that Erik Swanson is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays on Tuesday, while
Daulton Varsho is likely to rejoin the Blue Jays the same day if all goes well in his final rehab outing.
Blue Jays notes:
◾️Daulton Varsho playing CF for triple-A Buffalo today and manager John Schneider said plan for him is "one more game and then, assuming all goes well, he'll be back Tuesday."
◾️Erik Swanson (forearm) is slated to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Dunedin
Varsho has also been sidelined all season. After a strong showing in Spring Training, he started the year on the injured list as he continued to rehab his shoulder, which required surgery last September.
"In Spring Training, he slashed .242/.297/.697 with four home runs in 37 plate appearances for a 136 wRC+. If he can hit like that while providing stellar defence, that'll be a big boost for the Jays." -Delaney
The Blue Jays currently sit at 13-15 and in fourth place in the American League East division. They return home to host a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox starting on Tuesday.
