Blue Jays player could be heading to the Cincinnati
The Blue Jays could be in talks of a trade with the Reds that would see Joey Votto head back to Cincinnati.
The Reds have been struggling with offense this season with the exception of De La Cruz and Votto could possibly help. He is obviously not the same player he once was for the Reds but he can't be any worse than whoever he would replace. On top of that, Votto could be a big difference maker in the team's clubhouse as he has such a close relationship with the majority of the players.
Don't laugh. That couldn't hurt. He hasn't played for the Blue Jay yet, but the sprained ankle he suffered in spring training has healed. Votto's relationships with the players in the Reds clubhouse alone could benefit this team. He's not going to hit any worse than whoever he would replace on the roster. And he might even help. I don't know that that's a world-changer, but it beats doing nothing. - Wittenmyer
On the Blue Jays side, they might not get a huge return but seeing as they most likely will not bring Votto up to the Majors, at least they would be getting something in return.
For the time being this is only speculation but with all the facts at hand, this move does make a lot of sense for both teams.
