Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt is a solid pitcher but it seems like his role has expanded this season as he became a leader as well.
Bassitt is clearly a player on the team that many of the young pitchers and players look up to which we have seen through his relationship with ace Bowden Francis through this past season.
Bassitt is a high-calibre arm with an elite-level pitch arsenal. He's held a pertinent role with the Jays and has an understanding of the high standards that come with the competition. The right-hander would be part of a pitching foundation for any Blue Jays team wishing to see October again and has the experience to back it up alongside the likes of Jose Berrios and Kevin Gausman. -Prasad

Bassitt is now locked in for at least one more season with the Blue Jays as his contract expires at the end of 2025 which has many wondering what general manager Ross Atkins plans to do.
On one hand, the Blue Jays could re-sign Bassitt as he has been a proven solid pitcher and even did quite well this season on a team full of disappointment. The other option would be trading Bassitt this off-season or at the deadline if the Blue Jays are trying to make a big push and feel like they can go find a better pitcher.
Should the Blue Jays not see Bassitt as part of the long-term picture and choose to move him this winter, many teams need to rewire their starting rotation in 2025. -Prasad
It will be interesting to see how Ross Atkins decides to play this one as both situations seem like they can benefit the Blue Jays next season.
