Jays fans are pissed about these three Toronto Blue Jays players, as they take up a massive chunk of the teams salary but have a combined a batting average of .208 and a WAR of 0.3.
The 3 players in question are Justin Turner, Kevin Kiermaier and George Springer, all of which have been severe underperforming this season, not even compared to what they are getting paid.
The Justin Turner signing seemed promises as he was the hottest and most consistent hitter in the first month of the season. As the year progresses, he keeps getting worse. He is hitting .227 with 4 home runs and a -0.4 wins above replacement (WAR).
As for Springer and Kiermaier, they are just wasting roster spots at this point. KK is hitting .200 with a .04 WAR and Springer is been even worse. The right-filder who gets paid 21 million dollars is hitting a measly .197 with a WAR of 0.1.
To spend this kind of money on 3 players and have absolutely no production is a big reason why the Jays are behind in the standings.
