A former Toronto Blue Jays player has signed with the Baltimore Orioles as free agent shortstop Franklin Barreto has agreed to terms with the Orioles.

Many former Blue Jays have been signing new deals in the past few day, even beloved former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi inked a 3 year deal with the Los Angeles Angels worth $63 million with a average salary of $21 million per season.

News broke late last night that the Orioles agreed to terms with former Blue Jays player Franklin Barreto on a minor league deal but have no released yet if he has received a major league Spring Training invite as well.

The #Orioles sign a former top-100 prospect who lit up the Mexican League this year:
The 28 year old shortstop was once one of the top international prospects when he signed a deal with the Blue Jays back in 2012 for $1.45 million but only last two years in Toronto before he was traded.
Most fans in Toronto remember Barreto for his part in the trade that brought Josh Donaldson to the Blue Jays as the trade was Kendall Graveman, Sean Nolin, Brett Lawrie and Barreto to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for Donaldson.

Strangely enough Barreto signed his new deal with the Orioles after spending two years playing in Mexico on the 10th anniversary of the trade that landed Donaldson in Toronto.
