Teoscar Hernandez gives surprising reason why he wanted to play the San Diego Padres in the NLDS
As Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers set to face off against their biggest rivals in the San Diego Padres, star slugger Teoscar Hernandez gave the reasons why he wanted to them as their opponents for the NLDS.
It is no question the Dodgers are stacked and have very good odds at making a push for the Worlds Series title, but the 'big 3" Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman are just a part of the reason the team is soo good.
An underrated star that has been a huge contributor all season long is former Toronto Blue Jay outfielder Teoscar Hernandez. When asked why he and his teammates wanted to face off against the Padres, he has this to say.
«Me, I wanted San Diego. Just because of the adrenaline and the intensity, just the history of these two teams. I think this is the best scenario for us. And not only us, but the whole baseball world," Hernandez said of the NLDS matchup.

Of course you want to play the best teams, but some fans are a little bit shocked that Hernandez wanted to play the Padres this badly. The fact of the matter is, the Padres have had the Dodgers number this season, besting them in 8 out of the 12 games they played against one another. But at the end of the day, postseason baseball is totally different than regular season matchups.
Padres superstar Manny Machado has similar feelings on why this matchup is going to be one for the ages.
I mean, this is what everyone wanted. It's been going on since Korea and it's been a hell of a year for both teams going back and forth," Machado told Buster Olney after clinching an NLDS berth.
