In yesterdays matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts went out for a bizarre mound visit that you do not see every day.

In the bottom of the 4th inning with 1 out, it looks like Roberts was coming out of the dugout to remove starting pitcher, Banda out of the game, but he clearly had more strategic plans in mind.
On the previous play, when the brewers runner went back to 2nd base to tag up a long fly ball, he forgot to touch the bag, and it seems that only Roberts realized. Instead of him coming to take the pitcher out, he came to tell his pitcher to throw the ball back to 2nd to try and appeal. Ultimately, Roberts was right and the runner was called out.

Many fans think managers don't do much in baseball other then set the lineups, but clearly this video shows there are a lot more nuances to the game that meets the eye.
Hats off to Roberts for making a great call!
