Tragic news was announced yesterday as former Baltimore Orioles pitcher and fourth overall pick Brian Matusz tragically passed away at 37 years old yesterday.
Matusz played in the MLB for 8 years between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs after being drafted fourth overall in 2008 but has not played in the MLB since 2016.

News broke last night when the MLB posted a message regarding the news and speaking a little on Matusz' career in which he mostly spent with the Orioles until his last year with the Cubs.
We are devastated to learn of the passing of former Major League pitcher Brian Matusz.
Matusz, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2008 MLB Draft, spent a majority of his eight seasons with the Orioles. He won his Major League debut on August 4, 2009, as he gave up just one run in five innings. Matusz pitched in 280 regular season games throughout his career, starting in 69 of them.
He pitched for two Orioles' Postseason teams (2012 and 2014), making seven total Postseason appearances out of the bullpen. He made his last Major League appearance with the Cubs in 2016. He was 37 years old.

As of right now, there has been no cause of death officially announced as people are awaiting more news from the police.
Matusz was drafted fourth overall in the 2008 MLB draft by the Orioles and made his MLB debut the following season where he played from 2009 to 2016 in which he made the playoffs twice in 2012 and 2014.
In 2016, Matusz signed with the Cubs which ended up being his last season in the MLB before playing in a few more leagues then calling it a career in 2019.
