The Toronto Blue Jays have been in contract extension negotiations with Vladimir Guerrero Jr for a little bit now and TSN just reported that the new discussed number for his contract extension has eclipsed their previous offer.

The Blue Jays made an offer to Guerrero of $340 million prior to Juan Soto signing his record breaking deal of $765 million in which Guerrero end up rejecting as he believed he could sign for more.

TSN reports that Vladimir Guerrero Jr's contract extension with the Blue Jays could be between $500-$600 million

TSN just released a report on the latest news regarding the Blue Jays, touching on a number of subject including the latest in the Guerrero contract negations.
Apparently, MLB insider Ken Rosenthal stated that since Soto signed with the Mets their is a strong chance that the Blue Jays end up closing a deal with Guerrero between $500-$600 million.
Following Juan Soto's recording breaking 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets, Rosenthal reports that a deal in the $500 million or $600 million range for Guerrero Jr. seems more "realistic" than a $400 million deal. -TSN

If the Blue Jays were to close a deal with Guerrero for $500 million over 15 years, they would end up landing him for $33.33 million per season which looks to be a fair price for what he can bring to the team's future.
The Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins is known for lowballing when it comes to contract negotiations which is why many believe the offer might be closer to $400 million but at this point it is clear that if it is that low, Guerrero will hold out until free agency next off-season.
If Guerrero holds out until next off-season, Blue Jays fans might as well say goodbye now since the chances of the Blue Jays offer competing with organizations like the Red Sox, Dodgers and Yankees in free agency are slim to none as we have seen in the past two years.
Atkins needs to make Guerrero a massive offer if he wants to keep him away from entering free agency next winter.
Rosenthal adds that Ross Atkins and the Blue Jays will likely need to pay a premium if they want to ink Guerrero to an extension before he gets a chance to test free agency. -TSN
