Toronto Blue Jays will be waiting a while on pitcher Alek Manoah as he confirms when he will be back

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah has been recovering from surgery and has finally stated when he plans to return to the mound next season.
Manoah injured himself last May and went on to miss the rest of the season as he needed surgery on his elbow which has been confirmed is not Tommy John surgery.

Manoah recently spoke on his recovery that he stated is going very well and spoke on when he plans on returning to the mound for the Blue Jays since he will miss the start of the season.
According to Manoah, he hopes to get in the bullpen in March then get some live batting practice in June and hopefully be ready to take the mound for the Blue Jays in August.
Manoah himself provided an update to Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star as part of an interview for the Star's «Deep Left Field» baseball podcast. During the interview, Manoah identified August as his target for a return to action. -Deeds
«to go be a deadline acquisition for the Toronto Blue Jays and just help as much as I can over the final two months of the season, that's what I'm striving for,» Manoah said on the podcast. «I'm striving to get bullpens in March, to get to live BPs in June, and then get some rehabs going and hopefully be in a position to help this team down the stretch.» -Manoah
This is not great for the Blue Jays starting rotation who already has some issues and now they will likely not have Manoah until at least August if his recovery continues to go well.
However, Manoah did state that he does expects some complications to arise during his recovery as he is hoping for early August but understands that it can end up taking longer than that.
Hopefully things go well for Manoah and he is back sooner than expected but this is another reason why the Blue Jays need to find another starting pitcher for their rotation.
