There has been a new twist in the Toronto Blue Jays - Vladimir Guerrero junior contract extension that the deal will not be finalized on Monday.

The issue that's facing this deal is that there are logistic issues as the Blue Jays are currently on a 10-game road trip and the deal requires a physical to be completed and the team is currently in Boston to play a four-game set against the Red Sox.

Relief across Blue Jays organization with the announcement of new contract

Blue Jays fans along with the Blue Jays organization are breathing a collective sigh of relief as the saga between Vladimir Guerrero junior and the team have come to an end.
Blue Jays, 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reportedly agree to 14-year extension, per multiple reports including http://MLB.com's @KeeganMatheson.

After many weeks of speculation and rumors, the Blue Jays and Guerrero junior came to terms to a new agreement of a 14-year contract worth $500 million with no deferred money.
This contract now makes him the second richest contract in baseball history at its current value and it's 3 times larger then the six-year deal at 150 million that George Springer received.
"To represent an entire country, I think, for a long period of time is that much more special."

Some players like pitcher Kevin Gausman weighed in on the signing and coined him a superstar and that is a huge step for the organization.
"He's exactly what you would want to be in a franchise guy ... It's a huge step for the organization and the front office to say like, hey, this is our guy ... I'm glad they did that." Kevin Gausman

Bichette may have known about deal before it was announced

Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette eluded to the fact that he may have known about the contract prior to his announcement as he teased reporters when they asked him about it.
"Luckily, I was in the know a little bit earlier, but super excited for him. (It was) something he wanted, something the organization wanted. Seems like it's going to be a good marriage." Bo Bichette
"It's the most important signing in franchise history." Dan Shulman and Buck Martinez share their thoughts on Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s extension with the Blue Jays.

Bichette is the other superstar of the organization that is up for contract at the end of the year and could walk to free agency.
According to Bichette there have been no talks between the Blue Jays and his representative and will focus only on baseball and let management and his agent handle the details.
The Blue Jays have begun their four-game stand at Fenway in Boston as they take on the Red Sox which they will switch gears and head to Baltimore to complete their 10-game road trip.
