The Toronto Blue Jays started their new season with the thud as they were blown out by the Baltimore Orioles 12-2 which has led many Blue Jays fans calling for action on Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

It was reported just prior to the game that the Blue Jays had made another offer to the 25 year old superstar which was reported another gap is still remaining between the two parties.

Fans demand a move to be made if a contract can't be settled

It's on both sides of the argument with many fans feeling that if a deal could be struck within the next several weeks, that all will be forgotten then the Blue Jays will be able to move on from this discussion.
"We're going to give all we have to help the team win and try to bring a World Series Championship back to Toronto."

Other fans lamented that if a deal cannot be done that the Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins along with President Mark Shapiro should make a deal and send Guerrero Jr to another team and acquire as many assets as possible.
Guerrero went hitless in four Opening Day plate appearances, but did draw two walks and scored one of Toronto's two runs.
According to my sources, Toronto and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are doing everything they can to reach an agreement before Opening Day. They were in discussions today, and my source says that they were talking about more than $550M for around 14 to 15 years.

Dark clouds and questions will circle the Blue Jays until it's resolved

Ever since the news revealed that the Blue Jays and Guerrero junior had a self-imposed deadline prior to the beginning of training camp to make a deal has left many dark clouds and question marks surrounding the team.
"There's no excuse for this deal to not get done... If Vladimir Guerrero Jr. gets to free agency he's going to get more money than he was willing to take from Toronto now."

The contract discussions have become a distraction which could impede some of the team's performance as the Blue Jays only hit three times against Baltimore and two of their runs came from a home run.
Whether it was nerves or simply this team will struggle to score runs let alone hit the ball remains to be seen. But it's safe to say that if the Blue Jays play most of their season the way they did against the Orioles on Thursday, this will be a very long season for Blue Jays fans.
Hopefully, this won't be the case and the team will find its offensive ways sooner rather than later. Removing this distraction of Guerrero junior's contract would certainly help.
