October 23rd is the 31st anniversary of the Blue Jays 1993 World Series win and Joe Carter game winning homerun
The Blue Jays beat the Phillies 4 games to 2 in the 1993 World Series with Carter's three run homerun in the bottom of the ninth innings given the Blue Jays the 8-6 win and making them champions for the second year in a row.
The Blue Jays won that series 4-2, with Joe Carter hitting a game-winning home run off Mitch Williams in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 6. The Jays won the clincher, 8-6, thanks to that three-run ninth inning. -Farkas
Carter was not only a massive part of the Blue Jays winning that game against the Phillies in the World Series but was also dominant in the entire series with 2 homeruns and 8 RBIs but Paul Molitor was the World Series MVP as he batted .500 in the series.
Carter had two home runs and eight RBI in that series to help lead the Blue Jays offense. Roberto Alomar hit a whopping .480 with six RBI as well, while catcher Pat Borders hit .304. Hall of Famer Paul Molitor hit .500 (12-for-24) to win the World Series MVP. -Farkas
