Blue Jays could be interested in free agent outfielder Jurickson Profar
The Padres have shown interest in bringing back their former outfielder but it seems that he might be slightly too expensive for them this off season as he is expected to sign for almost as much as Michael Conforto who got $17 million.
It's no secret that Profar is at his best in San Diego and the Padres are at their best with Profar. But, if Conforto got $17 million then Jurickson has a legitimate argument he's worth at least that, which could very well make him too expensive for the the Friars, especially with big-spending teams like the Yankees and Red Sox in the market for a corner outfielder. -Togerson
Profar is not in the same category as Santander or Hernandez but still put up solid numbers this season in San Diego with a 24 homeruns, 85 RBIs, a .280 batting average and .380 on base percentage.
Spotrac has Profar signing for around $12.9 million per season on a 2-3 year contract which is slightly less than Conforto and if the Blue Jays could land him on a 2 year $24 million contract, it might be worth it.
This would be a great deal for the Blue Jays who would be getting a solid defensive outfielder who can also bring some much needed offense to the plate which they struggled with last season.
Even Blue Jays fans have mentioned online how Profar should be a player that the team should look at more seriously, especially if they end up missing out on Santander and Hernandez.
Why has there been virtually no rumors about Jurickson Profar and his potential market? That's someone I'd love for the Jays to add. Is he just holding out until the Padres free up $$$ so they can bring him back?
The good thing about Profar for the Blue Jays is that he seems to be flying under the radar this off-season which means the Blue Jays might be able to land him at a fair price.
