The Toronto Blue Jays still need to find a solution to help out their starting rotation and it looks like they might be interested in a trade with the New York Yankees for their former pitcher Marcus Stroman.

During an interview yesterday, Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah stated that his recovery is going very well but that he will only be ready in the last two months of the season which is a major setback for the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays starting rotation in very shaky heading into the 2025 season as they have Jose Berrios, Kevin Gausman and Bowden Francis as locks but everyone else is a bit up in the air.
According to reports, the Blue Jays could look at potentially closing a trade with the New York Yankees to bring back their former pitcher in Marcus Stroman to Toronto.
The Blue Jays could try to bring in another starter to add to their group of Kevin Gausman, José Berros and Chris Bassitt. NorthJersey.com's Pete Caldera predicted the New York Yankees would trade Marcus Stroman to the Blue Jays. -Mohammed

Stroman is set to make $18 million next season under his current contract which is a ton of money for the numbers he put up last season but if Ross Atkins can get the Yankees to pay part of his contract, it could make a ton of sense.
"Seeking to unload Marcus Stroman's $18 million contract for '25, GM Brian Cashman trades the right-hander back to the willing-to-spend Toronto Blue Jays for two lottery pick prospects," wrote Caldera.

The former Blue Jays pitcher game declined last season in New York as he posted a 4.31 ERA in 30 games for the Yankees but is only 1 year away from an all-star season in 2023 with the Chicago Cubs.
Stroman had a 4.31 ERA last season in 30 games. He is just one season removed from an All-Star campaign. The Yankees are likely trying to dump his contract. -Mohammed

This could end up being an interesting move for the Blue Jays rotation if they are unable to find any other options.
