Farrell was with the Blue Jays from 2020 to 2024 and despite many believing that he did a bad job in Toronto, he actually made some great moves for the organization that Ross Atkins failed to capitalize on.

Shane Farrell made some great moves for the Toronto Blue Jays at the MLB draft over the years

In his first season in Toronto, Farrell got the Blue Jays to draft Austin Martin who was a big prospect heading into the draft which then ended up turning into pitcher Jose Berrios after a trade with the Minnesota Twins.

In 2021, Farrell helped put together the deal that ended up bringing in Matt Chapman from Oakland which was a great deal even though it all fell through when Ross Atkins failed to re-sign him.

One of the most underrated moves in Farrel's time with the Blue Jays came in during the 2023 MLB draft when he got the Blue Jays to draft prospect Arjun Nimmala in the first round straight out of high school.

Clearly Farrell did a solid job during his time in Toronto and the errors that came from losing players that were drafted or trades that went wrong should fall on general manager Ross Atkins and not Farrell.
