The Toronto Blue Jays prospect pool has taken a lot of heat this year for not being very strong and it seems to be continuing as many prospects are left out of MLB Pipeline top 100 update.
Heading into the 2024 season, only 3 Blue Jays prospects made the MLB Pipeline top 100 list, Addison Barger, Orelvis Martinez and Ricky Tiedemann while many other significant names were left off the list.
We've talked for months now about how barren the Toronto Blue Jays' farm system is, and there seems to be no improvement in sight. Not yet, anyway. Addison Barger, Orelvis Martinez and Ricky Tiedemann were the club's only top-100 prospects heading into the 2024 regular season. -Treuden
As Barger has graduated to the big leagues, both Martinez and Tiedemann have fallen off of the list with. This is not a huge surprise since Tiedemann season ended due to him getting Tommy John Surgery and Martinez received an 80 game suspension for PEDs.
The only Blue Jays prospect on the MLB Pipeline top 100 list heading into the 2025 is the Blue Jays first round pick from this past season, pitcher Trey Yesavage who is considered once of the biggest steals of the draft.
The Blue Jays snagged Trey Yesavage in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft and in MLB Pipeline's latest top-100 update, he's the only Jay to crack the list. Tiedemann is out and so is Martinez. -Treuden
While the Blue Jays are far from having the best prospects in the league, their players seem to deserve more recognition that they are currently getting.
