Blue Jays Davis Schneider's future in Toronto is not guaranteed next season

Toronto Blue Jays rookie Davis Schneider had an unbelievable start to the season in 2024 but the second half went downhill which is why his roster spot for 2025 is not secured just yet.
Schneider started off last season on a great run, even earning himself some all-star votes since he is a fan favorite but that all went downhill after the all-star break as his batting number plummeted.
By season's end, Schneider authored a .191/.282/.343 slash line with 13 home runs and a .625 OPS. He amassed a 78 OPS+, struck out 144 times compared to 47 walks, and had bouts of inconsistency late in the season, which saw him sit on the bench more toward the end of the campaign compared to the start of the year. -Shushkewich
David Schneider's roster spot in 2025 is far from secured if he does improve his game
The Blue Jays plan on making some big changes to their lineup this off-season and if Schneider is not able to improve his hitting over the winter, the chances of his having a roster spot to start the season are slim. The team asked him to work on his hitting throughout the winter because a batting average below .200 will not cut it next season.
The club asked him to work on his motions in the outfield heading into the 2024 season and he was able to accomplish that from a defensive standpoint but now his bat needs to hold pace to match production, especially since the Jays possess a handful of internal prospects fighting for spots at second base.

Many of the Blue Jays younger players such as Spencer Horwitz, Ernie Clemett, Will Wagner, Addison Barger and Leo Jimenez are in a similar situation where they will need to show their worth next season if they plan on sticking around.
