Bad news announced regarding the Blue Jays trying to bring back Teoscar Hernandez
During a recent interview, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated that Los Angeles is close to getting Hernandez back on a new deal which is no surprise since this was his preferred destination.
Seems this is from Yesterday. Roberts says, «I think we are close (on getting Teo back).»
This is bad news for the Blue Jays who seemed to be very interested in bringing Hernandez back to Toronto especially after Atkins stated that they are very interested in the outfielder.
Hernandez would be a perfect fit for the Blue Jays since he is an outfielder which they need and brings a ton of offense to the plate as well which is why missing out on him could be a real problem.
The Blue Jays still have Anthony Santander who has many of the same qualities in terms of offense that they have been linked too if the Dodgers end up signing Hernandez.
Whether it's Santander or Hernandez, the Blue Jays clearly need help offensively as they cannot continue to solely depend on Guerrero even if there is also high hopes for Bo Bichette heading into 2025.
At this point, fans fingers are crossed that Atkins is able to get anything done that could help the team's offense.
