The Toronto Blue Jays are apparently very interested in free agent Alex Bregman but it looks like the latest report has them missing out on this signing as well.

Some believe that the Blue Jays still have a chance at signing Bregman like MLB insider Mark Feinsand since the Blue Jays have put in a six year offer which is the type of term he is looking for.

MLB insider states that the Blue Jays do not have a chance at signing free agent Alex Bregman

Bregman is by the best free agent still available on the market but since he is looking for a deal on a five to six year term, there is only three to four teams that are seriously interested.
According to MLB insider Robert Murray, he believes that the top teams that have a chance at landing Bregman are the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox.
.@ByRobertMurray just said he's skeptical at this point that Alex Bregman ends up getting a long term deal.

He wouldn't declare a favorite, but he imagines it will come down to the Tigers, Cubs, and Red Sox.
This is not good news for the Blue Jays since once again, if they miss out on Bregman, it will not be because they did not make him a good enough offer but it will because GM Ross Atkins is unable to seal the deal.
Bregman would be an incredible addition to the Blue Jays offense as he is coming off a 26 homerun and 75 RBI season but it looks like they might end up missing out on another superstar.
He hit 26 homers and drove in 75 runs last year while playing in 145 games. Bregman is a two-time World Series champion, having helped Houston win the title in 2017 and 2022. He'd bring a slugging ability and a winning pedigree to Toronto, pairing with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Anthony Santander in the middle of the order, but it appears that won't happen anymore. -Farkas

Once again the issue with the Blue Jays seems to be that management is unable to convince big ticket names such as Bregman, Juan Soto and Pete Alonso to sign in Toronto despite offering them their asking price.
