The Toronto Blue Jays are the latest team circulating in the trade rumor mill as they have expressed interest in acquiring third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Colorado Rockies.

Although the trade would be a long shot for the Jays, sources are saying that it will be unlikely that McMahon will be available at the trade deadline. The probable all-star for the Rockies is signed through 2027, but a trade scenario could be possible if the Rockies find themselves in a crucial position to funnel assets out. Sources are saying that the Rockies are not hard pressed to move him quite yet, and many other teams around the league have also expressed interest in joining the hunt for McMahon.
The 29-year-old infielder is having a dominant season so far, posting a .286 -.366 -.483 with 10 home runs and 33 RBI over 234 at-bats. He has also been stellar defensively, posting a UZR/150 of 8.0.
Could a trade be possible for the Jays at the deadline? The big question seems to be are the Jays' sellers or buyers? Sitting at the bottom of the AL East and still 10 games behind the New York Yankees, Ross Atkins will need to start thing about potential strategies to help bolster his team's effectiveness moving forward. Ryan McMahon could be the answer they are looking for.
