Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero junior appears to be having a concerning stat that many are taking notice when it comes to home runs and his overall offense.

Not ignoring that this is early in the season, through 17 games Guerrero junior has a decent .284 batting average but has not hit a home run and only has seven RBI's prior to last night's game against the Braves.

Blue Jays coaching staff waiting for Guerreros Jr's bat to heat up

This home run drought had gone on through the last nine games of last year's season into this season which puts him at 26 games without a home run.
Many have felt that the contract talks that have gone on plus the speculation that has been surrounding this team for the past several weeks may have caused a distraction to Guerrero junior and his game.
He pledged to the fans prior to his signing that it would not be a distraction, but it may be lingering now that he has.
Guerrero Jr is not the only Blue Jay struggling with hitting the long ball as Bo Bichette, and Anthony Santander have either not hit a home run or has begun to ignite.

Blue Jays enjoying solid start for their season

The Blue Jays have enjoyed their start to their season as the results have appeared solid and consistent. The team has been consistent with their relief pitching and their starters as they have given the team a chance to win every night.
It seems that the team's offense is starting to find its rhythm as more games have more hits and more runs that earlier on in the opening days of the season.
The Blue Jays defeated the Atlanta Braves in game two of their series 6-3 and currently have a record of 10-8 holding second in the American League East.
As the offense continues to ramp up especially from players like Guerrero junior it's expected the Blue Jays will continue to climb in the standings and certainly look better than they did last year for the last few years.
The team will conclude it's three-game series against the Braves on April 16th and then we'll take on the Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre starting on Friday April 18th we're game time will be 7:07 PM eastern.
